Este artículo relata el desarrollo de la enseñanza de la psicología en España desde la creación de las Secciones de Psicología en las Facultades de Filosofía y Letras (1968-69) hasta los planes de estudio actuales. Se destaca el esfuerzo del grupo de psicólogos en torno a Yela, Pinillos y Siguán para la ‘recuperación’ de la enseñanza de la psicología después de la Guerra Civil, la sucesiva implementación de los planes de estudio en las distintas facultades de psicología en la década de los 80 y el papel de la Conferencia de Decanos en su seguimiento y mejora a partir de 1990.

Este artículo trata de describir el que consideramos es el periodo crítico en el proceso de institucionalización de la Psicología en Madrid, el que va desde la creación de estudios universitarios de psicología hasta la creación del Colegio Oficial de Psicólogos. Primero se resumen los avatares de la Psicología en la post-guerra con el desarrollo de las primeras instituciones psicológicas, luego se recorren las condiciones en las que se produjo la formación de las primeras promociones de licenciados en las Secciones de Psicología de las Facultades de Filosofía y Letras de Madrid, que fueron quienes llevaron la mayor parte del peso de la primera institucionalización de la psicología. Tres ejes principales son objeto de atención: el inicio de los estudios universitarios de psicología, con un gran número de profesores noveles y con formas de contratación precarias; los conflictos sociales en los períodos del tardofranquismo y la transición democrática; y, finalmente, la situación laboral de los primeros licenciados ante la ausencia de la figura de psicólogo socialmente reconocida. Se concluye que la creación del Colegio Oficial del Psicólogos es resultado de un proceso en el que resultan indisociables las reivindicaciones profesionales y el activismo sociopolítico de los graduados de las primeras promociones de licenciados en psicología.

This paper is devoted to the study of a critical period for the institutionalisation of psychology in Madrid, that which spans from the beginning of university courses in psychology up to the creation of the Professional Association of Psychologists (Colegio Oficial de Psicólogos). First, a brief history of the institutional development of Spanish psychology in the years following the Civil War is offered. Special attention is paid to the conditions in which the first few cohorts of university graduates in psychology sustained during their years at college. They were who later took on the lead for the professional institutionalisation of psychology. Three issues are examined in detail: a) the conditions in which the first few years of university studies on psychology developed, with novice instructors in precarious labour conditions; b) the social and political turmoil in the late years of Franco’s Regime and the Transition to Democracy; and c) the conditions of the labour market these first graduates had to face in the absence of a recognised profession of psychologist. It is concluded that the creation of the Professional Association of Psychologists (Colegio Oficial de Psicólogos) is the consequence of a process in which professional demands were intertwined with the social and political activism of the first few cohorts of university graduates.

Las psicólogas y psicólogos de Euskadi hemos construido en los últimos años una comunidad solidaria de tres subdelegaciones pertenecientes a cada uno de los tres Territorios Históricos de Euskadi a través de una Junta que ha desarrollado la Psicología profesional y científica en estas comunidades. A punto de constituirse los Colegios Oficiales de Psicólogos de Álava, Guipúzcoa y Vizcaya se espera que con estas notas que reseñan la evolución y principales actividades de la trayectoria de Euskadi se vea también coordinada en un futuro por el Consejo Superior de Euskadi, respetando la idiosincrasia y la independencia de cada Territorio Histórico.

In last years psychologists’ from Euskadi have constituted a solidary society with three offices that belongs to each one of the three Historic Territories of Euskadi through a Board that have develop professional and scientific Psychology in these communities. On the point of establishing Alava, Guipuzcoa and Vizcaya Psychologists´ Official Colleges, it´s expected that, with these lines in which it´s described the development and principal activities of the trayectory of Euskadi, it will be also coordinated by Euskadi Superior College, keeping the idiosyncrasy and independence of each Historic Territory.

This article describes the main achievements of the Spanish Psychological Association since its foundation in 1979 and up to the present day. These include the increase in its estate and membership, as well as landmarks such as the creation of the Deontological Code and the Clinical Psychology speciality and the approval of the Association’s Statutes. Also mentioned are the organization of scientific-professional events at national and international level, the signing of institutional conventions and the growth of international relationships with other professional associations. The consolidation of the Regional Associations and their inclusion in the future General Council of Psychological Associations, endorsing the idea of a unified professional psychology with diverse, socially and institutionally-recognized specialities, appears as the most important challenge for the near future.
